Welcome to Support Staff
The success of Tibshelf Community School depends on the drive and commitment of the whole school workforce. The support staff form a pivotal part of the workforce in school.
All our support staff are expected to be aware of safeguarding and child protection legislation and their responsibilities in relation to this.
There are various roles within the support staff compliment that cover many aspects of the management of its school and its facilities, below is a brief summary of the areas that are covered:
The strategic business staff within school have responsibility for the management of finances and budgets, policies, resources and planning. Recruitment (including employment law), absence monitoring and payment of salaries also fall under the business remit. The Director of Business and Resources is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and contributes to formulating and consolidating the strategic development of the school and has overall responsibility for all support staff within the school.
Our Information Team are responsible for administering examinations, maintaining and promoting social media, providing data for strategic decision making and liaising with external organisations.
The Administration staff have a key role to play in the day-to-day running of the school. This ranges from being the face of the school on reception to dealing with communications between staff, pupils and parents, handling parental enquiries and processing admissions.
The Pastoral Team are the first point of contact with pupils in school and can signpost to other services as well as arrange interventions for pupils.
Our premises staff deal with the upkeep and maintenance of the school premises and grounds. They have responsibility for the security of the school during the school day and during any extra-curricular events or activities.
We have subject specific technicians and ICT technicians who provide valuable information, resources and expertise to support both the wider workforce and teaching and learning.
Our Midday Supervisors monitor pupil behaviour during break times, ensuring the health and safety of pupils at all times. They deal with any misbehaviour and report to a senior member of staff.
